Anyone who knows me, knows I'm a fan of metroPCS. Been with their low budget no contract plans for years now. I was eyeing a new Android and got news that sometime in October, Metro will unleash this badboy on their plan... I'm excited cuz I was gonna go with the LG Motion (similar specs to Iphone 4). The Samsung Galaxy has had the rep as the bad boy of Android phones for awhile. So I'm gonna have to cop this when it drops. - Official link HERE

The father of a 4-year-old child recently diagnosed with leukaemia, yesterday made a passionate appeal for the public’s help in settling more than $1 million in medical expenses for his daughter’s treatments. Although doctor’s have found Zion’s condition to be in remission, her parents, Jason and Ancilla Knowles, will likely have to foot heavy costs that exceed their financial abilities. “The expenses,” Mr Knowles said, “are unbelievable. The bill so far is not a final bill and it’s already over a million dollars. That’s mostly because of her stint in Miami Children’s Hospital’s ICU for three weeks. We have the insurance, but it doesn’t cover everything.
“So at some point that will be exhausted, depending on how much the insurance company decides to pay. Either way we’ll have a sizeable bill to cover on our own.” The family’s journey with leukaemia, a cancer of the blood cells that can lead to other infections, began in May following a routine physical check-up in preparation for Zion’s first year in kindergarten. Mr Knowles said that before that Zion showed no symptoms of becoming gravely ill.
“We were referred back to paediatrician who found her liver and spine were enlarged so that prompted her to do additional blood tests, specifically looking for certain things,” he said.
Later on, Zion was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital for one week, but was then referred to the Miami Children’s Hospital where she has been treated since July 2nd.
“Since she’s been admitted she’s had a lot of ups and downs,” Mr Knowles said. “Initially in the first two weeks she developed pancreatitis as a result of one of the medications. That required her to stay in ICU where she was sedated for the entire period because there was a lot of pain involved.
“It resulted in her blood pressure being high, and her sugar being high. So throughout the entire ICU stint she was on about 10 different medications. She also started having seizures and is also on anti-seizure meds. Zion was also on a feeding tube, a stomach pump and on a respirator.” The family has also suffered a divide as Mr Knowles has constantly had to travel to and from Miami as his wife stayed at the facility while doctors cared for Zion.
“She goes in for weekly visits for her chemo and she gets a spinal tap basically every week. Now she’s in the consolidation stage which involves a high dosage of chemo medication to fully eradicate the cancer cells.
“My wife is over there with her. She got a leave of absence. I travel back and forth. My employer has been working with me with giving me time to go over there and work here.”
Considering the circumstances, Mr Knowles said, Zion, who is now on seven medications, has shown incredible strength and a good knowledge of the ordeal.
“Although she is four she is very intelligent. Zion is aware and will tell you about leukaemia. She lost her hair already, but we told her about it, so she accepted it and is fine with her hair the way it is.”
Doctors, Mr Knowles said, expect Zion to make a full recovery. The family now wants to use their experience with leukaemia to create a wider public awareness.
“Apart from just for our benefit, we really want to make the public aware of leukaemia because a lot of people hear about prostate and breast cancer, but there are so many different types of cancer. Leukaemia is one of those that is so romanticised, that you only see it in movies, but not many people know about it.”
A cook-out in aid of Zion will be held on October 6. Persons requiring more information can email Jason Knowles at jasonhknowles@gmail.com ----
I would like to thank The-Coli.com and SoBeSoles.com for their help in supporting my family during this time.
Initially you, Stephenson was all happy doing the Reggie Miller "choke" because Lebron, was missing some critical free throws. Then Pat Riley sent the goons out, and you really holding ya neck choking. We don't care if Dexter Pittman miss some games man.... he earned his certified goon seal. We see you Dexter *wink*
I aint had no clue what to title this blog post. *Bites Fist* Just wanted to have this saved here, so I don't have to go looking for it elsewhere. Serena is thee (yes thee) definition of thick. *Bites Fist, again*
Every new game season the coach switches up the roster. Just like in the NBA or NFL, free agents come along, trades are made and a team is formed. Some dudes have a deep bench. Some rely on one star franchise player (monogamy). BUT any way you slice it it's the dating game.
Since my divorce, I have found my self back in the dating world. 2010 was rough I was a new expansion team and all the veteran teams had their squads. I had to learn quick where to find eligible women that were down to visit my "conditioning training" performance evaluations.
First I tried the bar club scene. Which didn't work out for me except for a few quick scrimmage games. Then I tried the social sites. You can, recruit from your friends on Facebook or try OKCupid, or Plenty of Fish. They all work. Tip - Don't use Twitter them broads is crazy and LOVE attention. Eventually I started to attract new players to my team, either thru word of mouth, or thru friends.
Eventually I found my star athlete. My franchise player... and so far her performance all around has been spectacular, and she has made many highlight reels. If her performance declines, I can honestly say I won't trade her but just keep training her. The imposing performance graduates with my highlight. It's up to her how long she wants to stay on my team.
Like Wacka Flocka Flame's catchy ass song, "O' lets do it!" I got my innanet turnt on (finally!) at the new spot. Back to my blog and staying up to date on rap, reggae, sneakers and cars.
Why it took so long? Left my G5 Mac at the crib, and finally went and scooped it up.
I labelled this "thought" Love = Pain because I spent all Valentine's weekend moving into my new apartment. I chose that weekend to leave my old relationship behind. I'm currently going thru my divorce now and I'm concentrating on making it fun for my two lil boys that will be visiting on the weekends. I left behind the suburbs and the house, with the white-fence and all the dreams I had created there. It's just gonna be me bustin my ass, stacking paper so my sons can grow and become more than me.
I asked them (my boys) what color scheme they wanted for their room and they decided on Orange with a Mickey Mouse theme. How am I gonna pull that off? Beats me... Of course a PS3 was requested also. So I spent all day looking at furniture online, even looked thru my local Craigslist to see whats up. I'm gonna have to get that right so they feel comfortable when they visit.
My goal for the remainder of 2010. Keep my money right, plus keep me and my sons happy. Happiness was my resolution for this year (corny I know) and I'm working on it. I've been bonding more with my cuzzins that live local in Tampa Bay, and my bro back home. Blood is thicker than water.
My life isn't finished yet! Still young only 31, with 10 years married. Thats 1/3 of my life in a failed attempt at happiness. Shit thought I'd be dead by now, when I was a teenager... didn't think I'd make 30. I'm not dead yet, down and out for a bit, but still alive and able to progress. Time to roll up, drink some brown drank, and listen to some Pac.
"I set goals, take control, drink out my own bottle
I make mistakes but learn from every one
And when it's said and done
I bet this brother be a better one
If I upset you dont stress
Never forget, that God isn't finished with me yet"
- Tupac Shakur
I always wonder how dudes can have so much pent up rage over a woman. My marriage isn't perfect, and is probably not going to last forever (real talk). I'd never get so heated that I run up on my baby-mama and unload my nine on her though.
This guy in Brazil - Fábio Willian da Silva, 30 years old, killed Maria Islaine de Moraes, 31, his ex-wife with 8 shots. Fábio, a tire repairman, went to Maria's own beauty parlour and committed the crime after four years of marriage and one year split. He never accepted their separation.
Like we say on SOHH with unfaithful women - "You share that girl!"
Thank you Martin Luther King, Jr! What can I say you had a dream, that dream is my life. I am Black and proud, even though I have a few blood lines running thru me (again 1 drop rule) . The same with my sons. Eventually I think multi-racial people will be the majority on the planet. Of course I won't be here to see it, but eventually, I see it happening.
My morning show host said fuck Haiti, so I have to respond fuck Bubba The Love Sponge! I know you are a free speech shock jock radio host, but sometimes you go to far. I will still listen because, I know you are saying what some people are thinking and too afraid to say. I mean Pat Robertson, Rush Limbaugh and you have listeners... that means someone agrees. I'm glad that TNA wrestler chick punched you for saying that.
Did some reading at my local bookstore, yes I love bookstores. Watched some movies and played Pokemon wiiware with my kids.
Woke up with a hangover and arrived at work 2 hours late... Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.
Rapists getting 3 - 4 years in jail. A woman in Tampa, Florida hit and ran over 4 kids (3 died), she got probation. This dude in Atlanta burglarized a house, ok it's not a violent crime (it may have been if the owners were home). He pleaded guilty which meant he owned up to it. Normally this gives you a lighter sentence, they didn't brandish no guns on nobody in the video footage... no one was hurt.
The judge still gave him 15 years.. 15, really? 15... cot'damn He couldn't believe it either and passed out during the sentencing. They better put him on suicide watch.
How much time would have been fair? I don't know, but 15 is too long.
I'm so hurt now after seeing the damage, honestly I couldn't comprehend it... the dead kids... damn. This song goes out to my Haitian neighbors, it is not a song about Haiti. But today this touched me. THIS CAN'T BE LIFE!!! THIS CAN'T BE RIGHT!
I was flipping thru the two free newspapers in Tampa Bay, Creative Loafing and TBT, and I saw a shitload of ads for Pain Killers. (Off topic Edit 1 - my career is advertsing so I unknowingly read, absorb and pick apart designs, font usage, if images are blurry etc.. aka OCD type shit)
Now around my way Oxy, Roxys (generics) are big sellers on the street. People doctor-shop, jump from doctor to doctor with lame stories of pain to get them and sell for more on the street. But what if you did need your own supply. (Edit 2 - I don't use pills... ) Now with weed being decriminalized for medicinal purposes in some states. I'm pretty sure you can do the same thing the pill-poppers in Florida do, if you lived in Cali.
What I need to know is can I see a doctor in Cali, or another weed-friendly state... and get a script. Shieeeeet flying to Cali is cheaper than Amsterdam, they already nicknamed Oakland, Oaksterdam.
Things You May Need:
Local weekly newspaper / Or the daily freebies C.L. or TBT
Shady-ass Physicians
Qualifying illness or a good story
Step 1 - Open the newspaper and look through the classified ads to find a physician who writes medical marijuana or pain pill prescriptions.
Step 2 - Make an appointment with a physician.
Step 3 - Describe your symptoms/illness. Conditions which, by law, can be treated with medical marijuana include AIDS (Edit 3 - never, ever tell anyone you have AIDS) , cancer, chronic pain, anorexia, glaucoma, and arthritis. If you don't suffer from any of these conditions, tell your physician that you sometimes get painful migraines and the only thing that works to alleviate your pain is marijuana.
Step 4 - If your physician doesn't write you a prescription, repeat the process with a different doctor.
Step 5 - WIN!
I don't condone doing anything illegal. You aren't breaking any laws, if its for personal use. If you don't need either of this stuff... just bump this Plies and Keri track. It's about another type of medicine.
Plies feat Keri Hilson - Medicine
I could be this certain shone's medicine, she said she had a cold/flu... but she's jokes.
My earliest travel memories of flying as a child were waking up early. Getting dressed in my BEST clothing, headed to the airport in the early morning (Mom only booked 1st flights out). I'd be so sharp possibly in my Sunday Best as a lil kid. As I grew to a teen, it toned down to just dressing well... But now I go to the airport in as little as possible. Sweat Pants (loose and comfortable), my Jordan Brand flip flops and white socks (tired of taking shoes off an on), and a white tee.
But I might as well just show up nekkid now. These new Bodyscan machines are gonna be showing my junk to all of TSA anyway. If its a fine TSA woman (like them young bubble gum chomping Latinas in certain airports in Florida) I'm gonna have to make eye contact with them and wink before I step in that machine, cuz I'm proud like that. If it's a dude... damn, don't even wanna go there.
Seriously how much money was spent on these Bodyscan machines? Kalik could rig one up in a day from home depot.... Just give some 2x4's and sheetrock (drywall) and I'd make a lil booth, with a peep hole (dressing room sized) with a sign go inside and get nekkid... I mean its the same thing right?
Well these Bodyscan machines may be an invasion of privacy and may even go as far as violating child laws (nekkid children)... you can read about that on Wired.com
Woke up with the worst hangover I have had all year (I kid, I kid.. it's bad slight stomach pain, but its only day 1 baby). It's cot'damn 2010... I'm pissed at the 80's movies man. No hoverboards, no cyborg police, no flying cars, we did get the Star Trek (bluetooth/cellphone) and computer shit though.. Overall I say we have about 33% of what the 80's movies promised us. THANK GOD (whichever deity you prefer) we didn't get any apocalyptic shit like some movies were saying.
Anyway, another year down and my resolutions for 2009 are over, I think I did most. For 2008 I got them all done (shakes dreads I started in Nov. 2007)... Hopefully the short list I have for 2010 is easy. Already started working on some of them. The hard part is sticking with it around March, shit or even as late as July, if you get that far the 2nd half of the year is easy because it is a part of your daily routine.
Just washed my locks because of the smell of cigarettes (other people) when in crowded areas. So as I came out I said, I'mma watch Shottas (2nd best hood movie of the last decade, #1 Baby Boy) so that's what I'm doing... Have a good year people. If you can take 1 line from Bigs from this movie, "Today, we rich!". Make that day everyday.
RIP to all the friends and family I have known that didn't make it to 2010.
Tapes been out for a minute, but I been playing it the last hour. This Tape is 14 Young Jeezy tracks all are remixes and Blends Produced By Wario Wayne (Beat Flippaz). Mixtape is packed with feature appearances from Young Dro, Bloodraw, Young Buck,Slick Pulla, Rick Ross and more.
**RIP to Angelo, dude from my work. Rumored to have comitted suicide on Christmas. This is the 2nd suicide from a young dude at my graphic design job since I began. I don't know why, but since hearing the news, I put this tape on. I battle my own shit internally, hope his family handles this well. My sympathy to Paul his grandfather and a friend of mine for years too (cool older dude).
These 3 dudes are blocking that fine stewardess in the back.
So you aren't ballin on T.I.'s level... or Jiggamans. But hey they pay people to fly them around (and at over $5,000 an hour for a G5 chartered flight). They also pay chauffeurs to drive them in their Maybachs and Bentleys. We drive ourselves, so why not fly yourself. To get a sports license in Florida is affordable, I mentioned it before to my brother.
The Icon A5 is being released in 2011, for a measly $135,000 (yeah I know). But I'd take one of these over an RV. *Imagines himself flying to Nassau, doing lil runs here and there around Florida*, anyway back to reality if I win a lotto, get injured on the job and get some payout. I want one of these!
Check the videos and proceed to dream like the Wright Brothers did back in the day.
